Hi everyone..
have a 1991 MR2 that has major problems.. seals and rings need to be replaced, head gasket blown, rear main leak, blah blah blah.. i've been told to just drop another engine in it.
Can someone recommend some engines.. I've read something about Celica and Corolla engines fitting into it, but weren't sure if they were talking about turbos or non-turbos..
I'm not looking to convert it to a turbo, i just want it to run without billowing smoke and leaking like the Exxon Valdez. I love my car..
Thanks!!

Well if you want her running clean, get yourself another 5sfe motor for 300 bucks.
Cheap, fast, nothing to worry about.
However. If you have 3500-4500 bucks sitting around for no good reason, get yourself a jdm 3sgte motor from a turbo mr2.

Thanks so much for your response!
Okay.. so i've just searched on ebay for 5SFE engines and found that multiple cars have them.. Am i correct to assume that any 5sfe engine is a standard engine for mid-engine rear wheel drive car and will fit into my 91 MR2?
I just want to be clear on what i'm looking for and about to go broke buying... Please pardon my ignorance.... :eek7:
