once knew a kid who put those rope lights under his car, and called them neons, when i could see them dragging when i was sitting next to him at a stop light. now he drives a civic with a "dx" swap, claims to have vtec, (know nothing about civics, i think the dx might have a small dose of vtec, but i know he doesnt cuz its still slow as hell. he drives it around like its fast as hell, put a discolored body kit on the front, stripped the interior, put seat covers on his stockers, put a huge ass tac. on his A-pillar, and has stock 5 inch wide tires. then he says i think im cooler than him cuz i own a 240. when i know im cooler than him cuz i can drive my pos car reservingly(is that a word???), knowing that its a pos. plus i dont have a mullet, take a shower everyday, dress in clothes that dont have holes, dont talk like my car is the shit. etc etc etc...

THE MEANING OF RICER: Something that sounds like it can possibly just maybe have some power, but yet we all know it has no power at all. Something that sounds really annoying. Something that just looks completely retarted compared to other cars on the street. Something that you look at you just kinda giggle at, something that you look inside and see some noob driving and he looks like he thinks hes hecka tight and he thinks his crap is fast, and last but not least, something thats front wheel drive!!!

Ok for all you who think you know what a ricer is here you go...
A rice rocket is a name for a car made in japan, so a ricer must be that. When i see a ricer it could be any japanese car including a 240 or any nissan as far as i am concerned. I drive a acura and u can call it a ricer. A ricer can be nice, crappy or in any condition. Don't misjudge a ricer though. Look in an import magazine and you'll see some true ricers. If anyone doesnt like what i say thats too bad becuase i speak the truth. I have a rice rocket and i have to represent for them cuz i would take a import over any domestic anyday. And Iam sorry for you nissan owners who dont have a VTEC! bY THE WAY RICERS HAVE POWER AND SOUND GREAT! NOTHING CAN COMPARE TO THE SOUND OF VTEC KICKIN IN!
VTEC RULES! LONG LIVES THE RICER.
GOOD LUCK NEWBIES! :grinno:

rice rocket does refer to imports but RICER as used against a person does not exclude the use of domestic cars

No other car company has developed Vtec or variable valve timing like Honda. Other cars have it, but it's not the same. Turbos kick ass. I love Vtec too. I have a civic with an LS/Vtec that's fairly quick, it's fun. I also have a 240sx that will have a turbo in the future. My friend works for Prodrive and I ride in his 12.87 WRX all the time. I love turbos aswell. The deffinition of a ricer could have been for strictly imports when only imports were done up, but now there are just as many riced out neons and cavalier out there. Sorry but integras are heavy and slow. My 4-door civic is over 300lbs. lighter and I dust type r's with ease.

Front wheel drive cars suck, i cant think of one racing even except the 1/4 mile that use front wheel drive cars. You cant control them in turns and crap, front wheels just lock and you are gonna pile on the side of the track with all the other ricers. The one thing that ricers are good for it.... doing donuts backwards!!! woohoo!!

Thanks man at least you know about hondas,
I'm not saying my car is hella fast or anything, but iam saying its not slow and VTEC (no H) is different then any other company trying to copy honda. I love the sound and the pull I get ( it doesnt just get loud). And i love the sound of a turbo and a BOV. Ls VTEC is a good setup man. And GT500916 there are many autocross front wheel drive cars and they dont slide into walls they do pretty good, but i'll admit rear wheel drive is abetter concept but all wheel drive is the best. Everyone has different opinions on what a ricer is but if you break it down a ricer is a japanese car. For all those crappy japanese cars that do no good and are loud I think those should be called GARBAGE!

Try racing a front wheel drive car around a track. They kick ass in track conditions. That's why they are used a million times more for autocross. Rear drive has advantages in drag racing because weight tranfer is to the rear of the car. Front drive is a problem in dragging because of this. Front drive pulls around turns. I think you have a huge misconception of front wheel drive.

I don't really care what kind of car you drive. If its fast or you have put a lot of work into the performance aspect of the car, I'll respect it. If you put a lot of work into the exterior of the car to make it look good, I'll respect it. If you talk like your fast, look like your fast, and act like your fast, you better be fast. If your not, your a poser. I have absolutely no respect for posers.

cant have fun wth front wheel drive cars... the only reason they stopped making rear wheel drive cars is because they wanted to save on money and weight. that = a car that is no longer fun to drive.

B16 a ricer doesnt only refer to the car it also refers to the person who drives the car and decides to make there car look like complete and utter ass and as for u saying that you see true ricers in magazines. well i dont know what magazines you read but when im reading sport compact magazines i dont see the "true ricers"" whatever the hell that is i see true tuners. as for comparisions on front and rear wheel no one mentioned how far superior rear wheel is for drift

Ever heard of VVT-i? better than v-tec not always on only at WOT if you even know what that means....BTW do you know what the purpose of a BOV is?????? not just a sound .... i can agree with you i like front wheel drives (possibly only b/c i drive one) but GT500916 is right its not worth a whole lot except on teh 1/4 or 1/8 w00t

Dave-o, I'm guessing you have a mental handicap. Front wheel drive sucks for drag racing. It is great for track racing. It is even good in rally (all wheel drive is better). Vtec isn't only on in WOT(wide open throttle). Let's see, I own an LS/Vtec, I build Honda motors, Oh yeah, I race too. VVT-I blows compared to Vtec. The Celica GTS has VVTL-I And it blows. The toyota has no balls at all down low in the RPM range. Hondas don't have a lot, but they have more. The VVTL-I kicks in hard but is controlled by oil preasure. This means it will only kick in at 6,000 RPM. Vtec is electronic controlled, can be adjusted easily lower or higher for the engagement point. The higher you set it, the harder it kicks in. The lower you set it, the softer it kicks in. Plus new Toyota motors have compression up the ass. The motor in the GTS has 11.5:1 compression, with 180hp. My motor had 9.6:1 compression with 193.5hp(crank) and now has 11.5:1 compression with 221.8hp(crank). Dave-o, just don't talk :smokin:
Aftermarket bov's have very little advantage to stock. Most people do buy them for the sound. My friends WRX has been dynoed at 350 wheel hp, and he uses the stock WRX bov. Oh, and he works for Prodrive. Look them up.

Its not a bad idea to get a nice BOV. Tat was actually having problems with one of the BOVs he was using and when he switched to a Greddy type s, the problem stopped. You'll have to ask him about it. FWD is good in the 1/4 and 1/8. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA. Maybe in reverse. This is a good example of why reading is good and why some people should do more of it.

Yeah don't get me wrong. A faulty bov will hurt performance, and there is a point where you make so much power that a better bov is needed. I just hate it when people think they get more power because they put a bov on a virtually stock turbo motor. It's really funny to here all the WRX's driving around blowing off with loud exhaust, when that's the extent of the mods. My friends is a sleeper when it comes to a WRX. It's quiet and has a stock bov, but he pulled slightly on a Porche Turbo from 70-120mph and then the Porche started to pull. His car is pretty fast.
