Does a vr4 engine fit in a SL? I heaar about all of these people doing TT conversions in an SL and the parts for it consists of all the vr4 engine parts like the turbos, water housing, etc... But does a vr4 engine fit in an SL and work fine with no major modification?

i believe it will fit in a manual sl with little to no modification, noone has been able to get an automatic transmission to work with the vr-4 engine due to ecu probs

Damn that'd be a car with a fast upper end.
Edit: ...water housing
Does the VR4 have air to water intoercoolers stock? Or what is a watter housing lol.

Q: Can I convert my non-turbo Stealth/3000GT to a turbo Stealth/3000GT?
A: This has to be the most frequently asked question I receive. This conversion would cost far more than it would cost to just buy a turbo model from the beginning. My opinion is that it is not worth the time, effort, and money required to make this conversion. For example, just to begin you would need a new VR4/TT engine (about$4,000), a new tranny (about $4,000), a new ECU (about $1,000), and several other parts not to mention labor costs, time and effort to find the parts and a reputable shop to do it. So you're talking about AT LEAST $9,000 - plus, you still would not have the other standard VR4/TT goodies:
17" or 18" premium wheels
Bigger and better brakes (rotors and calipers)
AWS (all-wheel steering)
Active-aero (front air-dam and rear active spoiler)
ABS
ECS (electronically controlled suspension)
Upgraded climate control system
Upgraded stereo
Improved exhaust flow
etc.
Save your money and buy a VR4/TT.

what that website advises is true but it is not the route i would take, i would beef up my stock fwd tranny the best i could and find a good vr-4 engine used (from what i've seent hey can run from 700-2500 used) plus the ECU used will put me somewhere from 1500 to 3000 depending on luck on finding used parts cheap. All in all it may be easier to just buy a vr-4 in the first place but then there the appealing side to a twin turbo fwd sleeper on the road
