Grille guard trouble NEED HELP!!!

I went out to install my Manik grille guard today when I ran into a few problems. 1) It bolts onto where the tow hooks are and the bolts holding those tow hooks on were not going to be removed by the turn of a simple wrench. So with no impact tool to my rescue I gave up. 2) Tomorrow I'm getting a 5 1/2 lift done to my truck, with 2 1/2 being a body lift, 3'" suspension...which will sit my bumper/grille up almost 3 inches from where it currently is, nestled by the two hooks. So now I figure, wait, my grille guard probably won't apply correctly anymore...will it? Anyone know of a quick fix or some hardware that can be of any help?

Can't say for sure, but it sounds like the grille guard will sit 2.5" lower.

FYI - I just had to remove my tow hook bolts too. They were a challenge, but a 1/2" drive ratchet loosened them just fine - I'm sure a 3/8" would have as well. Leverage is the key...unless you're Hercules you'll never get them loose while laying on your back. Using the right one as an example, if you sit upright, facing the left tire, you'll be able to pull the wrench toward you to loosen the bolts.

Good luck with everything...

Take care,
Jerry

Also may want to try a little WD-40 on those tow hooks. Good Luck.
