how can i get a code for a jetta i just bought

i just bought a 95 jetta III, from a small dealership here in houston, and he doesnt have the code for the radio....does anyone know how i can get this? or do i need to replace the radio all together?

im thinking then that this is not from a vw dealership? thay can get it from using the computers thay have... if this is not one take it to a vw dealer and thay can get it for you. thay shouldent charge you anything ither.

You wll have to get a serial number off the radio, which will have to be pulled out. They will charge you if they have to do it. You must have the car's VIN number also. Even when you have the info with you some dealers insist on charging to look the code in their computer system. If you look around you should be able to find a dealer who wont.

slide two butter knifes in on each side of radio this will push clips out and alow you to remove radio.. if you have the owners manual it my have been put in there mine came with a sticker on the manual for resetting.. good luck
