does anyone have a clip of an lt1 z28 or ss with a flowmaster 40 muffler?

does anyone know in the longrun if the camaro had 550hp and it had either a magnaflow exhaust or flowmaster 40 would there be a big horsepower gain difference?

personally i like magnaflow (thats why i have the system). its seems to me that flowmaster focuses more on the sound of the exhaust, opposed to maximizing exhaust flow. that's my own observation though. like i said the magnaflow is a straight through design, but you might even want to look into the slp loudmouth or something like that. personally, id say magnaflow...

ok thanks, that is good cause i love the sound of the magnaflow, and i thought that it was only sound and flowmaster was mostly flow and i didnt really like the sound of the flowmaster, did you notice a big difference in power when you put it on or not really?

i noticed a huge difference, but in fairness i also gutted my cat when i put my exhaust on, although apparently gutting the cat doesnt do much...

i put a spintech on mine. but i have had different mufflers on cars and i cant tell any power increase. but it will change the exhaust note. i just shelled out $129 for an 80 series flomaster for my little brothers trans am. and dont let anyone try talking you into a cheap off brand muffler,
this guy told me that a xcelerator muffler was an offbrand flomaster.
i bought it and had it put on my z28 for like $90. but it sounded nothing like flomaster. but i got a really good deal on that spintech for $119, and it has a more agressive sound to it.

80 series flowmaster is the shit for lt1's, i think they sound way better than borla or anything else.

on the other hand none of my lt1's have had 550 hp, the hp gain from a muffler at that high of hp would be nothing compared to what you have. it probably sounds bad ass anyway just dump the exhaust before the back tires.

i think this is a hypothetical type of question. but yes if you get a high flow cat it will help with exhaust flow and will make it easier to hit 550hp.
