Dropping money

Who here drops loads of money on electronics they end up not using?!? I'm a digerati, aka electronics freak. I just gotta have the latest and greatest.

Things's I've bought, but don't use: Handspring Visor - seems cool, I actually did need it when I bought it, but "writing" on a screen sucks ass!
Sony MD player - They're small and cool looking, but just not as bloody convenient as burning a CD and playing it on a portable CD player. I'm just too lazy to record the songs to MD! For those who don't know, you don't burn or encode MP3s or songs onto MD (despite how the ads may make it sound), you actually record like a tape recorder. That means you play the song on your computer, then press record on the MD recorder and a 4 min song takes 4 min to record. Arghh!!
Sony Playstation - Nothing wrong with it--I'm just never around to play it! No time at all.


Right now I'm considering getting a PS2 for three great reasons: DVD, plays old PS games, and plays new PS2 games. But it's mainly for the DVD feature. We have two DVD players in our house--just not in the family room. My parents hog the DVD player in the living room, and a computer is kinda cumbersome when you want to watch it with others.

I've been wanting a laptop for the longest time; the Sony R505 Slim Pro. But I know this will be a waste of money.

We have 4 video game systems, only one gets played with...that is when we are home. We have Gamecube, Dreamcast, N64, and PS1. I have a Zip drive on my computer I haven't touched in ages. 2 disc doctors that occasionally see the light of day. Then there's a "bookshelf" stereo system sitting in storage. I was gonna sell it then Alex decided he wants it for the garage so it will be used again.

I have three ZIP drives. WARNING! These drives drop like flies and fail all the time. There's something called the "click of death" and it is a very common problem. I've had to get mine replaced several times.

I got both a PS2 and Xbox, LOL
cause got the PS2 last year, and then Xbox this year.

my dad's like an electronic freak too, he always wants the best crap... we have like the biggest digital flat screen TV Sony offers, HDTV, Bose surround sound system, 4 DVD players :eek: (won 1 of'em at a golf tournament), and we have the like TiVO thing, you know where you can record straight to the box digitally and stop Live TV to replay something, or skip commercials, etc.

Well just looking around my desk I see a Rio MP3 player that I never use, PS2, speakers that are better then my car stereo system, flatscreen(but my computer sucks... Go figure) I'm just to damn impulsive, and a sucker for gadgets. For instance, I want the new Imac just 'cause it look sooooo different.

I nearly bought a CD/MP3 receiver when my tape one died. I was at the register when I realised what I was doing and took it back for a cheaper CD receiver.

I also want another MD player! But as you can see from my first post... I don't even use the one I already have! :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

And cell phones, I seriously have no problem dropping $400 for the kind of cellphones Europe and Asia gets. Those are hella tight! :eek: But the US has sucky phones. :(

With all the money I'm spending (and considering spending) for electronics, I wonder how I will ever be able to buy a car of my own... :( And the mods... and the insurance... and food!!

i want a flat screen for this computer, even though it sucks, the stupid 15" (stop laughing!) takes up too much room on my desk.

but i love electronics too. actually, just my computer and my PS2..but there is one thing i do that is similar and thats not to bargin shop. i just buy stuff when i want it. screw wether or not the price will drop 3 weeks from then...thats 3 weeks of not being able to use it...
