No, they won't damage anything. I would recommend using the factory-specified plugs.

Sorry to barge in... Brian R., or other tech gurus... can you explain to a stoopid user why there are no plugs listed for an '04 V6 Tacoma on the sparkplugs.com site? I've heard from a few other folks on toyotatruckworld.com that traditional spark plugs aren't used. This seemed strange, but it could be that I don't crawl out from under my rock often enough.
Thanks in advance...
Take care,
Jerry

they probably aren't listed because that engine uses the two prong grounded electrode plug. Dont know why they do but you can get them at the dealer for a reasonable price believe it or not.

There's no listing for an '03 either?

The 2003 and 2004 5VZ-FE engine uses the same plugs as it did in previous years. Denso or NGK dual electrode. If you need a number, order the plugs for a 2002 Tacoma 3.4L V6
NGK Multi-ground plug 4302 BKR5EKPB-11 $11.71
or
Denso Multi-ground plug 3289 PK16TR11 $7.16
I guess by "traditional plugs" they meant single electrode plugs. The 5VZ-FE engine has used the same plugs since 1996.
I don't know why they haven't updated their site for these years, but it's not because of the engine.

Thanks for the great information!
Is it fair to assume the same is true for the 2.7L and 2.4L fours? A couple of friends have noticed the same thing...no parts listed.
Take care,
Jerry

Bosch plugs have a reputation for bustin' the electrodes into the engine....

Unless they make a radical change to the engine (big hp change or turbo), the previous plugs will work.
