Trip with a 1993 Astro Van

My husband and I are planning to tow a car that he is going to restore from Edmonton Alberta to Vancouver BC probably next weekend. We plan on towing it on a trailer with my 1993 Astro Van and as we have to go over the mountains we are beginning to wonder if this would be a wise thing to do. We also plan on driving during the night so we would not be in the hot sun hoping this will help keep the van cool. Anyone have any suggestions or thoughts on this ? Any replies would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

as long as your truck is running good i wouldn't worry about it!
if it overheats or has engine/trany/ tire problems, i would just rent/borrow a truck for the trip.

Before going I would make sure you have a transmission cooler installed, as you can overheat and damage the transmission. Also, be sure your brakes are up to the task, as they will fade quiclkly if overworked in the mountains. Otherwise, as long as your engine cooling system, tires, hitch system, etc are in good working order, you should be OK. Have a safe trip.
