Well, my friend and i just got finished my mini-me swap last night (y7/y8) and now its being a bitch. started it a few times last night and the results were...

1. started, ran, shuddered like all hell
2. started, still shuddered, gave it some gas and it died before reaching 2K rpm
3.start then die

now, today, i can get it to start for a fraction of a second sometimes. other times it just wont turn over. ive tried advancing/retarding ignition at the dizzy with no luck. im running out of ideas, i have no money for a shop right now, and i need to drive my car. this blows, someone please give me some help.

I just recently did a mini-swap d15b7 + y8 head
runs fine for me.

Just make sure all the sensors and air hoses on the throttle body are connected. Mine sputtered a little bit at first because I got got on hose.
It would let me rev past 3k when i was missing a sensor on the T/B also.

Tell me how it goes.

ummm lol.... did you by ANY chance make sure the timing with the engine pulley and the cam gear on your new head are in sync? even if it is ONE tooth off, it'll sputter and die... rotate the engine pulley to line up the red mark on the pulley with the lil arrows to make the 1st cylinder TDC (Top Dead Center) and then make sure that your new head cam gear is "UP" there are 2 lines on the sides also that line up with the head itself. (of course this has to be done with the timing belt off.) I might not have been too clear on this im sorry... if any questions just ask... I sure hope you guys bolted down the head in the sequence your supposed to and have also added the CORRECT torque also. The little things can mean you blowing your head gasket in the future

i know all about those little technical things. i did everything to spec and i think i just found my problem... i went to check the plugs and they had coolant on them "aww fuck, headgasket is bad". i pop off the intake(still using the y7 because my vacume lines are too short) and whata ya know there is coolant just chilling at the bottom. i checked over all the vacum lines and yea ::shoots self:: i had a coolant line from iacv going to the intake and the vac line from fuel system going to iacv. ouch. im cleaning it up now, ill let you know how it goes.

it works! yay. besides some white smoke for the first 15 minutes and a horrible valve tick, she runs great. just a note to whoever reads this, DOUBLE CHECK ALL VACUM LINES BEFORE STARTING THE CAR youll be very happy that you did.

anyway im very happy with the extra power the head puts out, even without vtec. i can definately feel it pulling harder and the intake sounds like a beast lol. its uber ghetto rigged. ill post a pic when i get a chance to upload them
