88 Dodge Shadow 2.2 Engine Problems

Hello every1, I'm Rick, I'm new 2 this, but I need some help with my pos When I start it up it idles normal @ 1000 rpm, but after about 10 seconds the check engine light comes on & the idle jumps to 2000 rpm's . Then when I try to drive it go's for a lil bit then it starts to sputter & stall out. I replaced the spark plugs & wires, the rotor & distributer cap, the feul filter & had the coil tested. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it

Did you check to see if there are any codes? I would start there, clogged converter, O2 sensor failed. There are more that can cause this see if it is putting out a code first.

Ty Dan for your help, I replaced the MAP sensor & the car is running fine again.
