Just had 3 awesome runs with an EVO VIII.
I was crusing the I210W, looking for trouble when I came up on a Yellow EVO VIII. The car looked to be de-badged, I thought it was a Ralliart at first. I slowed down from 80 to about 70 to fall back along side him. Traffic was heavy around the La Crecenta area so he hung back. As soon as the left lane opened, I did a quick 70-120 punch to make my intentions clear. He bit and followed and too my surprise this guy wasn't becoming a dot in my rear-view. I slowed and waited for him.
RUN 1: He comes up along side and we both slow to about 75. As soon as we are lined up he hits it and gets a good 0.75 car while I react and the A4 downshifts. His lead remains unchanged from 80-100. I started inching him by 110 and start walking him at 120. I pass him up at about 130-135. I run it up to 140 and shut down. He comes up alongside and we both give each other the thumbs up. We come up on traffic and stay within each other site.
RUN 2: We get another clearing doing ~67-70 and he comes up along side. I roll down my window and he says he wants another run. I tell him "HONK IT OFF". He holds up 3 fingers and I nod. HONK-HONK-HONK, the tranny doesn't down shift cleanly and I have to let off and reapply the gas. He jumps out to a 1.25 car lead. 75-110 his lead remains the same. 120-130 I start making up ground. 135 I'm pulling pretty hard. The car shifts to 4th (~142) right as I'm passing him (his front bumper is at my door). I stay in it to ~150 and put maybe 1.5 cars on him. I put the hazards on just to rub a little salt in the wound. I gotta give him credit, though, he could've let off at 130 and claimed a (cheap) victory. The guy showed class (and insanity) by staying on it and running it up as high as we did.
RUN 2.5: We came up on the mountainy section of the 210W (lots of wide curves) and he decides its Rally Time. He hits the accelerator and I play chase. He was about 3-4 cars ahead at the time. I can't say much other than that car really does corner like it's on rails. I wasn't comfortable taking some of those curves at 120+ but he was. He put about 3-4 cars on me thru the twisties and made sure to turn on his hazards. Hats off to you guy, you got some balls.
RUN 3: We get to another straightaway and line up again. This time he holds up the 3 fingers and points. I speed up to 80 (to catch the top of second on my downshift) and honk it off. We both hit it at the same time and he still gets a 0.5 car lead. This time I have less ground to make up and by 120 we are even. I run it into fourth again and put ~2-3 cars up to 150.
I slow down give him the thumbs up and wave goodbye as I need to take the 218. I don't know what that EVO had done to it but it definitely wasn't stock.
I ran a stock one at the track (Speedway) and was running away at the 1/8 mark

wow sounds like very intense competition. anyways there is always one problem with the EVO, and that is it falls on its face once it hits 120+ mph, that is when it has to shift into 5th. the just doesn't want to pull anymore at that speed. but awesome kill non the less.

Nice runs, lol. Sounded like alot of fun. I bet your car would make a good bracket racer (being an auto).
