dual 2 ohm sub will wire to 1ohm or 4 ohms. do positive to positive to positve bridged on amp. Negative to negative to negative bridged on amp.

but i have 2 subs, i know they can wire down to 1 ohm by there selfs. but i have 2 subs

oh... I missed that part... I would get two amps IMO.
Or try the DEI mono high end amps. They can handle some abuse. That Amp you are looking at will rape your alternator

How much power do you want per sub? What subs are they? what is their RMS??

Pimpdady753
08-17-2004, 12:18 PM
These are my subs, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=48613&item=5715420085&rd=1&ssPageName=W
They say there rms is 2000 so i would like to put about if not more then 2000 rms in to each. that is why i need that 1ohm on the amp.

Jesus, so your amp needs to put out 4,000 watts RMS...

Just about anything he hooks up is gonna rape his alternator...

Haibane

not as bad as that amp. it is a high current class A/b amplifier... Class Ds are much nicer to the alternator

so those amps are better then the AUDIOBAHN amp. I would have like to go all AUDIOBAHN, but if those amps are better, Then i might go with your amps any other recomendations on amps, Any ones that look cool. Thanks

Pimpdady753
08-17-2004, 10:29 PM
doesnt the AUDIOBAHN amp have 2 channels, So cant i just run one sub on one channel and the other sub on the other, and wire them down to 1 ohm,

Haibane
08-17-2004, 10:36 PM
you can get two audiobahn 1800t class d's( I think that is the model)

Running them 2 channel at 1 ohm each channel is the same as running them 2 channel bridged at .5ohm

Haibane
08-17-2004, 10:37 PM
A18001DT get 2 of them

Pimpdady753
08-18-2004, 02:53 PM
Those things are fricken expensive, i cant afford that much money, can you recomend and other amps the most i can spend is 500 dollers on ether one amp or on 2 amps, so the 2 amps have to be around 250 each. Thanks

Haibane

Try and run 1 ohm on each channel... no promises from me.

If you want a good system, stay away from audiobahn.

Haibane
08-20-2004, 12:01 PM
Sounds like he is going all SPL, which audiobahn should be fine for

bumpinstang77
08-20-2004, 05:14 PM
Those subs only have 20mm xmax and will probably require full power to get that even in a decent sized enclosure and have hardly any cone are. Hell for that price I'd say just step up to two xxx 12's or an xxx15 and get some REAL output that sounds good.

Haibane
08-20-2004, 05:18 PM
yes this is true... but he doesn't want to spend money to properly power them.

Pimpdady do u already have theese subs or are u goin to buy them?

Pimpdady753

Yes i allready do have the subs,

sr20de4evr
08-23-2004, 11:23 PM
well first off, stop looking to send 2000rms to each sub. It's audiobahn, get used to their power ratings, if you were to send 2000rms to one of those subs for any more than a second it would shit a brick and melt down into a pile of worthless trash. Send each one about 800rms tops

Pimpdady753
08-24-2004, 12:21 AM
are you sure, these subs are for comp arnt they. they should be able to handle that much power.

Haibane
08-24-2004, 09:00 AM
I tend to lean toward what he said too

bumpinstang77
08-24-2004, 12:58 PM
No they're not for competition because they wouldn't win anything and no they can't handle more power. Probably more then 800rms but I personally wouldn't put more then 1200-1500 to one of them. That a18001dt doesn't put out near where its rated so one of those amps on each sub would be good. Just make sure that They're not clipping. For some reason Audiobahns cannot handle clipping at all and it will very quickly destroy them.

Pimpdady753
08-24-2004, 03:58 PM
Ok then

Haibane
08-24-2004, 04:08 PM
Those amps you are looking at will require an alternator and a battery upgrade if ran properly...

Pimpdady753
08-26-2004, 09:22 PM
Witch amps the audiobhn amps or the amps you showed me. i plan on getting a yellow top batter. will that help

Haibane
08-26-2004, 09:30 PM
the bahns... The boss will just sound horrible...
Yellow top will help a little, but not much... since it is your power source that is the problem, not your power storage...

LOL you want 4000w of power on your subs but yet you dont want to pay? and who the hell brought audioPAWN into the post? and if your now paying at leas $1 for 2watts your either not getting what the amp says your getting or your watts have a massive THD % rating....4000watts is alot...and just to let you know if you go with a clean 2000 watts you will me much happyer with the sound quality and only loose 3dB over all...

Remember that the decibel (dB) is a logarithmic unit, meaning that you cannot add and subtract dB like ordinary numbers. For example, an increase of 3 dB is a doubling of the "strength" of the sound, not power, and an increase of 10 dB means that the sound is 10 times as loud,(i.e., 70 dB is 10 times as loud as 60 dB).

sr20de4evr

Actually he was right, if you double the power you gain 3dB, if you cut the power in half you lose 3dB. And no an increase of 10dB does not mean the sound is 10x as loud. An increase of 6dB is twice as loud if I remember right, and an increase of ~10dB sounds twice as loud to the human ear.

audiobahn makes crappy amps and so does lanzar, go with a different company before you waste your money on an overrated amp.

btw don't give those subs their rms, they will probly blow.....

get a jbl, or a rockford power, or another quality amp, instead of those two....

CBFryman

>>Remember that the decibel (dB) is a logarithmic unit, meaning that you cannot add and subtract dB like ordinary numbers.<<

ohhh that is a good one...besides the fact that 3dB doubles sound energy and 10dB doubles human perseption of sound (i beleive...diff sourcres say diff things) so basicly if you double power or double cone surface area you gain 3dB....that is a proven fact..

Pimpdady753

lets see some good amps for like 300 dollers

sometimes on forums one thing can lead to another.
sometimes as other people help the one starting the thread learn something...
sometimes they can simultaneously learn other things too...
kickass concept, these forum things huh..?
