Another N00bish Question brought to you by EmP:
So, I disconnected my battery while I was installing my new amp, and my homeboy told me that when you disconnect the battery, the PCM/CarBrainThingy wipes some configuration from it =/ He said make sure not to race hte engine or drive with the cruise on for a while...

so do any special settings have to be reset by the pcm when you disconnect the battery? how should you drive while its doing that? how long does it take?

btw my car 100% stock 03' GT (except system)

Well on most cars I always do an idle relearn. I start the car with cold engine, and start it. Never touching the gas, turning on the ac or anything let the car warm up till the coolling fans cycle on/off. Then you can turn off.

you're 03 has an obdII diagnostic system. Unhooking the battery has little or no effect on obdII. Older cars with obdI had ecm's that were reset after a battery disconnect. This is not so with obdII. OBDII started on some 95's, and is on all 96-up, so you have to use a scan tool to reset codes and/or restore the car to baseline, so you have nothing to worry about

Still needs to realearn the a/f ratio tables and transmission shift values. Computer doesn't know this stuff on it's own.

I stand corrected 94sportsedan, stay off it for a while until those values are re-learned
