How was your summer vacation

Let me tell you about my summer vacation which happened 3 weeks ago.
The trip to VA Beach over 700 miles
July 14th 4:45 A.M., 4 hours before departure from home. I wake up with cold sweats, my stomach in the most pain i have ever felt before in my life, i can't even describe it. After 3 hours of puking and using the toilet my parents walk in my room and tell me it's time to go. my response "i think i have food poisoning i can't go" their response "if it's food poisoning it will only last 24 hours at the most" so i sleep in the back seat of the jimmy all the way to our halfway stop in west virginia(in pain still). I wake up the next morning in worse pain than the day before. July 16th Finally after 3/4 day drive we make it to our beach front hotel, and my mom finally decides to take me to a hospital since i can barely stand on my own two feet, let alone walk. We get to the ER at 7:00 p.m., after hours of waiting and a catscan the doctor tells me that i have apendicitis!!!!!!!
I wake up the next morning and the doctor told my parents that i would be in the hospital at least 4 days. But he didn't say that my apenidix had ruptured, oh no, he said it was inflamed. The day i get out of the hospital i stumble into a souvenir shop with my friends in mind. And i end up back in the hotel sleeping the rest of the night. the next day i wake up with some smelly goo coming out of my incision(sp?), to the clinic to see my doctor i go. Well, now it appears i have an infection in me :eek: So what does he do, he cuts open the wound, and drains some of it out, and i have to wear a bandage with guaze in the wound on my stomach up until two days ago. Oh but it doesn't even end there, when i got home the next sunday i was in the hospital again because i was throwing up blood clots and infection, because an abssess had grown in my pelvis, i couldn't keep any kind of food or drink down at all. So i spent 6 days in the hospital attached to an IV machine which supplied my FOOD(yes a food IV) and my anitibiotics. I get out of the hospital and i still have to keep an IV line in my arm because i have to take home antibiotics, and i didn't get that out until this last thursday. Apparently my appendix had actually ruptured for 2 days, and i almost died of infection twice in the last 3 weeks. How was your summer?

Damn that sucks. I didnt expect it to be that bad...now I feel bad im going to Europe on friday :(

Vacation, WTF is that? I work day after day after day....

I think i'm going to take a couple of leftover pills of Vicodin with some Killians and try to walk around my house on my day off tomorrow. That's how great these last few weeks have been. :disappoin

Summer here has been pretty good. Work most of the time, but I still take a day off here and there. :smile:

Well...I didn't get to go anywhere this summer...but not being at school was really nice.

My summer was great, I drove over 3000 miles, across the whole western United States, once I get the pictures dev'd I'll make a thread all about it. I got to see, ride, and drive alot of very rare and unusual cars, it was great.

wow, that is a tough, tough break. no idea how bad that could feel. hang in there buddy :sunglasse
