Hyde's getting a lot of coverage ... woohoo

Wow, Hyde got coverage in 4 places this weekend:

1. "Inside Drag Racing" on ESPN. I did not see it, but my understanding is they showed my final round appearance at Summer Slam at Englishtown Raceway.

2. October issue of Modified Magazine ... I have not seen yet. I've just been told there is a photo of Hyde (I think at Summer Slam) in their coverage.

3. Turbo Magazine did a front page feature on the 500+ HP dynoflash EVO and there is two photos of me racing him at Englishtown :D

4. I wrote a column for the newspaper I work for about my Summer Slam expereince and they published a photo and my article on it.

The Summer Slam event (the one ESPN) I took 2nd place .... which earned me $500 and a 2' trophy :)

Nope. He has 200 horses on me.
I raced him in the 1st round of Eliminations at two NHRA events (ATCO and Englishtown).

The photos is from E-town.
I beat him off the line and to 1/2 track then he walked away. He ran 11.4 to my 11.73 (my best run ever).

At ATCO, I red lighted and missed 2nd gear ... *sigh*

He has since entered into the 10s from what I understand.

Do you bracket race Hyde or run heads up??

I just got the Oct. issue of modified and haven't seen hyde, anybody know what page it's on?

97Tsi, I juts got confirmation last night from the kid who saw the photo that it is NOT Modified Magazine. It is RCI magazine ... now Igotta go look for that one! grrrr

Dang that's quick. What do you usually run and what do you want to be running? I'm looking at maybe doing drag every once in a while. I want to get into rally or auto crossing. Excellent MR2's dude.

You beat a modded EVO off the lilne??? How the hell did THAT happen? Your car is truly a beast.

Actually, I have beaten every AWD car I have raced this year off the line. :D ... and they have all had more power than me.

In Japan, mid-engine RWD cars (like the MR2) are classed with AWD cars for drag racing because of their ability to get off the line faster.

AWD cars have the advantage of 4 wheels spinning, but I have the advantage of being able to heat up my rear tires and using a smaller wheel upfront ... it's actually a fair fight :)

I've put a lot of effort into getting my launch down.
It could still use some consitency, but it is getting there ;)
