I'm looking to buy an Eclipse and I have a qustion about the 2000+ generation.
How well do they handle high miles, I'm looking at one, it's a 200 Eclipse GT (V6) and it has the autostick feature (I think thats what you call it?) You know it has a clucthless trans.
Anyway I love the car it is silver, has alloy wheels a power sunroof, black interior stock spoiler. But the only problem is that it has 89,065 miles on it!
I mean almost 90 thousand miles... that is alot of miles, but it si only like nine grand($9,000) so I'm still thinking about it.
I was wondering if it would last for 200,000 miles or so. :1zhelp:
Thanks in advance for any imput!

well to answer it, yes our cars can go over 200K miles, but tey have to be properly taken care of.you just dont worry bout the engine when you hit 100k. you got your shocks, bearings, rust. paint. everything. you have to take reall good car of it. and dont by the cheap oil get the good stuff. always put premium fuel in it. and change a lot of stuff. BUt yeah anycar can do that if well taken care of. an Second. thats a horrible price for the GT with almost 90k. where you live? i bough my GT with infinity, premium wheels. no leather but everything else for only 11200$ with 36 K on it. but its a manual. you could get so many better deals if you just lok a the diff forums and thenet.

FIND A STICK!!! my .02, there was a 2000 GT spyder in springfield for 10,5 you CAN FInD A BETTER deal not to mention it only had 50k miles on it, search around for a better deal
Dodge engines should last a long time and thats the kind of engine we have, my uncle's van has run over 140k miles w/o engine or tranny problems and he drives about as crazy as i do so there is HOPE!
btw for 9k you could get an Eclipse GS-T or GS-X w/ a lil more searching w/ decent miles (50k)
