I have the chance to buy a 1995 240sx for $800 through a friend of mine that does repo's. The car has 200,000 miles on it, the motor looks like it's been swapped once already. It is a Manual transmission (big plus for doing the swap) Interior is in decent shape not "new" but not horriable either. The body is good for the most part only has afew dents in it that can be fixed fairly easy. Power everything Sunroof 4 lug. Give me an idea of what this car could sell for if I just bought it and turned around and sold it. I don't think I'm going to sell it I really want to do the swap I just can't bring myself to do it in the other 95 that I have cause to me it is in to good of shape to do the swap. Plus the $$ I will make off of it will allow me to turn right around buy this one and order my swap. Please give any input.

Mileage is kinda high but for $800, that's a pretty good price. I'd still offer him $600-700 first to see if he bites.

Lucky you, I paid $600 for my S14 from a salvage yard, and it didn't come with the motor or tranny, OH, and the front has some damage.

If I buy this and decide I don't want to do the swap would anyone else be interested in it? I live in an apt and I'm not sure if I'll have a shop to work on it.

Get it it is a good deal, and if you dont have the abilty to do the swap then PM me. Because if you do a lot of work then the miles dont matter.
But you cant really find a better deal on a s14

The KA doesn't use a timing belt. It is a chain.
I would definately get it. The engine may still be in very good condition. I have heard of people putting on 5-7psi on 200k+ engines and them running fine. Test the compression on it. Even if the engine is shot, you won't get a better deal. Man I want a S14. Where's it at?

If you do buy it what kind of swap are you talking about doing? Im guessing your thinking sr? cuz of the part about you cant bring yourself to do it to the other 95?? but yeah 800 dollars is pretty darn good if you ask me and even more so if it runs. if you got the money for the swap than keep it but like most people would do Buy it and sell it for double like mentioned already in this thread!

I wouldnt buy unless i found out the mileage on the swapped engine or if ti was swapped and then i would have to test drive it to test the tranny... I would shy away from the 200000 miles and look for a good one that has less miles and in beter condition.

if you are really not into the car... then i bet if you get it to run and clean up the interior and exterior... i bet you will find a lot of people who will be happy to take it off your hands! Most people I know want to do an SR swap *aka make it a silvia*
They have s14 motors *if you want an sr swap* that have anywhere from 30-40k of miles on them that come with a t28 turbo *9psi unless you upgrade the restrictor then it maxes out at 12* and has 330 injectors *upgrade to 550 will be good* but for a stock SR20DET swap... expect around 2.5k for the front clip and about 1k for a shop install 2.1k for just the motor and tranny
I dont look at ka work so i cant give you any ideas on that
