its nice to have dyno charts, most cars want to launch where you get your torque for example, i have 205ft.lbs at 4k rpm, so i launch around 4krpm . what you'll want to do is match it so your traction isn't more than your loss of traction your tires play a big role and it is VERY critical you can do this by picking 1000rpm points along the tach and launching at them starting w/ 2krpm and going to...5k rpm
whichever is fastest, feels best for you is the one you should do

For most cars, the best results are going to come from a quick-controlled slip of the clutch ~ not a dump.

Can someone answer me?
What is the difference between slipping the clutch and dropping it?

Slipping the clutch is when you let it out quickly, but you keep it 'slipping'.. hence the name... to keep it from fully engaging so the car doesn't either bog out from too much traction or burn out from lack of it due to too much power applied too soon.
It's like driving normally, slowly letting the clutch out... but only a lot faster.
Dumping, droping, side stepping... whatever you want to call it is when your foot has the clutch pedal burried. And you simply release the clutch and let it pop back. That's good and all if you want to do burn outs.. or impress your boyfriend. But not the best way to launch your car.. plus it puts a lot of abuse on the driveline cause you're shocking the shit out of it.
