91 Error on speedo

I recently replaced the non-working factory radio with a cd player and now the dash will show error every so often. I lose all gauges and the speedo. It will start working again after a min or so, but its annoying trying to drive with no speedo. Owners manual says odometer tampering. First guess loose plug but I didnt pull or mess with the radio harnesses enough to disturb anything else, at least I dont think so.

Any ideas before I take the dash apart??

I don't think the problem is connected to what you did. My speedo showed error and popped on and of for three years. I had estimates from $200.00 to $1,300.00 to fix it. I went to e-bay and bought a IPC (instument panel cluster) for $40.00 put it in. It took 20 minutes. No more problems

I had the same problem with my dash took it to local auto electric shop almost a dozen times and $$$ ( the dealer payed for) later the only fix was to spend 28 dollars on ebay and replace it in 10 mins. I have had no problems since.
