Need some guidence.
My left front turn signal doesn't work. I tried swapping bulbs from the left to the right(which works) and the right still worked while the left still didn't work. When I push the emergency flashers all lights work except the left front light. When I turn on the lights all the lights work including the left front parking light. I'm stumped. What can caus this light not to operate only when the signal or flashers is on even though the bulb works in the other signal?
????????????
Thanks

bad light socket or bad wire to the socket, the lamp is a two element lamp which means the parking lights do not use the same element as turn signal thats why the parking lights work and the turn signal dont.
get a test light and see if you have power to the light socket, when you look into the socket you will see two small metal strips at the bottom make sure you have power there with the test light. one strip is for parking lights and the other is for turn signal. make sure the lamp is put in the right way. the little tits on the side of the lamp are stagered so it should only go in one way.
If you need more help send me an e-mail at firebird69racer@yahoo.com and I will try and help you more

Thanks for the reply. I did test the socket with a test light. I got power to one of the little strips but not the other. Is there suppose to be power to both strips? If there is only power to one of the strips when the signal is on then would that imply that the socket or the wire leading to the socket is bad? Also, The lamp is in correct. I made sure I put it in right according to the staggered tits.

yes there should be power to both strips. one should have power when you turn on the parking lights, and the other should have flashing power when the turn signal is on. If you have no power at the strip then check the wire starting at the socket and work your way back. If you have power at the wire then replace the socket

Thanks. It looks like that's the problem. I will have to trace the wire back.

Finally figured out the problem. After tracing the wire back to the source and testing it along the way to find any shorts or breaks I eventually ended up at the dash. The large plug that connects the harness to the printed circut had a broke wire. The broken wire was for the right turn signal. Mistery solved.
