Replace EGR Valve on 95 Lexus ES 300

Hi,

My car recently has check engine lamp on. I took my car to Lexus dealer. After they read the code, they told me the EGR System malfunstion. Also if the egr valve and related parts have to replace, it cost me 724$ including labor. Anyone have this problem? Is it possible to fix it yourself? ANy document on how to fix this?

I don't know if it is too late to reply this post but if is not go to autozone have it read the code. You will save a lot of money. Is your car drive and feel normal after the check engine light on? if it feel the same usually the EGR modulator valve the one causing the problem not the EGR Valve itself. To change the modulator takes about 5 minutes job and cost about $70-$80.
