I have a 96 civic dx with a d16y7 5 speed. I want to build my car up some that I can strap on a turbo and be able to boost at 12 to 14 lbs without having to worry about a blown engine. I need to know what is better to go with, doing a mini me conversion or swapping a b16 or b18. I dont have alot of money though.

b18b (LS motor) is your best bet. How much hp are you looking to make and what turbo are you using?

I want to be able to build something to 280-320hp with a T3 turbo kit and front mount intercooler

Yeah a B18B would be your best bet

or you can check out the motors built by TODA. try www.todaracing.com. They have some sick motors ready to drop in

You'd be hard pressed to get 12psi amd 300ish from a straight T3 with as you say "not a lot of money".

Thank for your input. I have been thinking about doing a frankenstein setup but I dont really know everything that I would need. I would much rather build up a B18 and then swap it in and turbo charge it and have it fine tuned. Then I think I would be right.
