For a handheld tuner, I personally think the Crane Cams tuner is pretty kickin'. But as for performance, get a Nelson tune!!

Hey niko I was curious if you have any exhaust put in your truck? I have a 5.3 silverado 04 also and want to put an exhaust system except I'm not sure if I should change the muffler or get like a kit and change the whole exhaust. I do want to change the tips out and have it coming out of the passanger side with two tips on it. I was thinking either flowmasters or borla. I wanted to know if there's a dif. or worth paying the extra.

As far as getting a chip, my friend has a superchip installed on his truck and hasn't had any problems. He did take it out and had it reprogram for new shift kit he had put in but he's been happy.

yo digi i have the gibson single oem exit and i was thinking of the same before (stock piping /welded in flomaster super 40) i bought my gibson($300 shipped to my house from truckperformance.com) one of my friends has and 04 like mine and he did the flomaster supper 40 at the local muffler shop. it came out nice but has a louder tone than the gibson whe have the same 5.3 @ 3.73 and mines is faster, sounds almost like a sleeper had has those mandrell bends which i think flows better than the local muffler shops bends hey also i got the gibson because it was the cheepest dolt -on i could find and im dam gladd i got it too took me around 1-1/2 hours to install in front of my house with my mom yelling at me the whole time!

haha your mom yellin' at ya. Yeah I think I am just going to get a bolt on muffler then cause I think the pipes are already stainless steel so its not like I have aluminze pipes or upgrading the pipes. I got the towing package with my truck so the gear ratios are also 3.73. I am just trying to get ideas and see who has what in their truck to improve performance and so forth. I probably won't pick up a comp tuner until I added a few things in the truck so that way I can tune it with the comp. tuner.

I just put the Flowmaster 30 series Road Thunder II cat-back system on my 99 5.3 z71. Stainless tips out the back - very nice sound and performance. 450 from truckperformance.com - awesome.

yo jevertt what about pro charger?!!!!!

Supercharger, or tuner??
I've never heard of a procharger tuner, so I really dunno. I had a Hypertech for 2 years, and I liked it, but finally ended up selling it a month or so ago so I could order me a custom tune. I really wanted the extra HP that a custom would add.

I've researched the crane tuner, and it seems to be jam up as far as options..the Hypertech is kind of limited as to what you can change.
