Me and my family live right on the coast of Fort Myers, Florida. If any of you have been watching the news or anything you might know about Hurricane Charlie that is coming straight for us. It is suposted to strike about 3 this afternoon and by that time will be a level 3 hurricane. Wish us the best of luck and safety.

Good luck....there should be broadcast warnings about women who fail to hold on to their surgically altered body parts or they will regret it afterwards

Good luck! I know what its like to sit in the middle of a hurricane. At least its only a 3. It could be a 4 or worse ya know? Just sit tight and let it pass....I mean, I'm sure you know the places to sit and not to sit, it can't be your first hurricane right? Well, I've been through my fair share so if you got any questions, you know who to ask. The fool who never evacuates lol anyways. Good luck to you and yours. If you really think about it, it can be peaceful if you get in the eye...anyways, enough rambling, GOOD LUCk!

Well, just be careful those little hurricanes from the lake that will surely spawn from the big one.

They're not asking you to evacuate?

They're not asking you to evacuate?
They ALWAYS ask to evacuate but the key word is ASK. Sometimes you just don't want to, or it would just be too much of a hassle. I know to evacuate down here (the Outer Banks of North Carolina) It takes 24 hours to evacuate all of the people who want to evacuate. I usually just stay put because its just easier that way. Its cool to watch the ocean and all. And once it passes, you generally get wicked good surf. and of course you get a head start on clean up. Evacuation in most cases is an option, take it as you may.

They're not asking you to evacuate?

No, because I am a bit inland. The people right on the water have to evacuate though.

peace out and good luck. Call me crazy on this but I have a fascination with hurricanes I wish I was there. The most we had here was 75-80 its was ok I tried playn lax in it but the ball kept flyin away it was fun though.
We mostly get flash floods here. but the floods only go up to 2-3 ft max I live on a hill so it juswashs all down and floods my neighbors.

They are saying that it is going to be a direct hit for fort meyers. This one could be a real serious one kinda like andrew was years ago.

Were any of you guys around for Andrew? I was down in Coco beach with my dad on a business trip for that one. He'll be back after this is gone and clean up is well underway...He's got a few days at least though. It'll all work out...

I will wish you the same luck I wished my sister and my mom. they both live in Ft. Myers. Both of there neighborhoods pretty much flood everytime there is heavy rain, so hopefully they will be alright. According to my sister, it should make landfall north of all of you, so hopefully it wont be too bad.

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but it would be better for the eye to pass to the south than the north because the wind is going to be stronger on the east side because the storm is moving to the north. The east side of the storm is almost always the bad side. I was in baton rouge when hurricane danny when the eye came ashore at new orleans and we got like a half inch of rain while places in miss. on the opposite side of the storm got 30 inches. Just the way things work.

Hey everyone, we just got power back, and of course first thing I did was come online ha, im such a computer geek. But we have a huge tree down in the back yard, couple more little trees and stuff, but our house is ok. No power sucks lol. But yeah, its really bad down here, all of the places right by the water got leveled. Check it out on the news or something. I will go take some pictures with my digital camera of the big tree that fell, talk to you all in just a bit.
