Hi all,
I'm a newbie. Love AF!
OK, here's my issue. I got the voltage light symbol along with the 'check charge system' message. The next day I lost all power in my battery. I got a boost, went about 1/2 a block and lost all power again. Since then my 'service engine soon' light has been on. Just to rule out battery problems I took the battery to Autozone got it charged and was told my battery was good. It's running fine now, however I haven't been driving it because the SES light is still on. My best guess is of course that somethings going on w/my alternator. Although I had Autozone put it on the OBD II scanner, it wouldn't link because I was told it only works for '96 and newer models. Before I go spend $60 to put it on a diagnostic machine I wanted to get some input because if your best guess is alternator problems, and if fixing this will remove the SES warning, I'd rather save my little $60 and put it towards fixing my alternator.

Ginny2004, you probably do have a faulty alternator. Some Autozone stores are still equip with ODB I scanners. If not check with PEP BOYS, if there is one near you.

Thanks BigDaddy Royster, that's a good suggestion. I'll definitely try Pep Boys first.
I'll keep you guys posted.
