shoting out

i am having problems with my 93 nissan sentra having this shorting out problem i believe. when i put it into drive it sounds like i have 2 wires touching and my brake light and engine light come on. only when i am in drive and at certain parts of acceleration. if any body has and ideas or think they might know whats up let me now

ur alternator is done for... take it out and get it tested thats wut happened to me 2

i think that i know why my altenator is shorting out like that but why is it that this will be my third alternator in the last year? i have an amp hooked up to it but it don't draw power away from the battery like making the lights dim or anythang. i think that the reason for this going on know is that i have an oil leak that i haven't gotten around to fixin yet. that will be a rainy day project or a very soon project whatever comes first. thanks alot

how tight is the belt....overtighting them did it for me....it wore the bearings because of it, and eventually fried it about 500miles later
