Initial D DVDs...

Well does anyone have them? I might order some but how do they compare to the comic??

I don't know about the dvds but i've got every episode on VCD here with me right now. I just got the thrid stage movie and it's awesome.

I got them about a year back, the bootlegs, and quality is superb.Just as good as the official japanese DVDs.All the bootleg DVDs which include season 1,season 2, OVa, and third stage movie would cost ya about 70-100 bucks.I bought mine off ebay from a guy in HK.i paid 90 which includes shipping(15-20 bucks depending on who is selling).

But overall on the bootleg discs, they are almost perfect in everyway.The initial D manga is alot more descriptive but only goes up to about volume 19 or 20, not sure.But it stops right as Takumi, Ryosuke, and Keuskie start there racing team.

I hope they had a few more seasons so they can show Takumi racing his Hachi-Roku with a Carbon filer hood.

I never knew they made an Initial D comic.

The comic actually came first, the show is based on it.

And whats the carbon fiber hood about? it's about doing something with your car other then buying piece of crap civic se and putting on a body kit that adds weight, a stereo with more power then most concert tours and putting in enough electronics and games systems to out value you engine. Grrrr, i hate that guys. But I loooovvveeeedddddddddddddd that impreza:D

Oh yeah, and about the series ending jsut before the start the super team, A friend of mine who got me the VCDs thinks they might have continued on in Japan, it's just that one's ever bothered to sub them and release em over here. I could be wrong though.

Yea "Initial D 4th Stage" is to begin in march of this year, with DVD and VCDs to follow shortly, I have no idea what the story is or if its a series or a movie like "3rd stage". And last night my girl rented "3rd stage" from the Japanese video store she works at, and it was so awsome!! Its the fist time I have seen one of the movies, I have read most of the comics, story is a little different, but hey who cares!

I love this series. I have them all on Divx. I tried to buy some of those shady Hong Kong DVDs but they were bogus (the character's voices echoed). Ive also heard rumors of a stage 4 as well. Did you guys know there was also a playstation game as well. Heard it suckd tho.

I got the Initial D ps game, fukkin hard as hell.It took me like a month to learn how to drift right inorder to get around corners smoothly.You have to shift down so it shift locks an everything.Graphics are wack but gameplay is decent.If you want a game like initial d i would suggest Battle Gear 2.It's an import for PS2 but you race on mountain passes, like tokyo extreme racer zero only on mountain passes not a highway.

Well um this is a bit off the thread topic but....what supras are you talking about the JZ70s or JZ80s?? Not much needs to be said about them, either can be fast. :huh: :huh: I dont get it??

i got the complete DVD set, but i believe there's going to be a Stage 4... i've seen pictures on-line
