Friday the 13th?

Anyone who has suffered through reading my semi - mindless blather on religion in this forum knows I am a pretty pragmatic and logical fellow.

I have decided that any belief in religion or superstition is not for me.

So why does the notion of Friday the 13th make me just a tiny bit uncomfortable?

I know, logically that it's just another Friday, but sometimes I still would prefer my 13ths to fall on a day other than Friday.

Is this the power of suggestion? Am I nuts? (A rhetorical question!)
Do others feel the same way?

It is a throw back to the Crusades. Friday the 13th was a day celebrated by the pagans, that the Church then decryed by associating it with bad luck and ritualistic satanism.

That said, I have discovered my petrol guage doesn't work and had a flat tyre today.

I usually have a hell of a day at work on the 13th, being my line of work, I find it may just be due to people subconsciously doing stupip of maybe just using it as an excuse. Either way I don't like it.

I got bit by two cats that came in on one of our Compost loads today.
(For those who don't know I'm the Manager at a Composting Facility)..
I had to grab them, one by one, and throw them outside as I can't have cats running around with all of this equipment.

One of the buggers bit right through one of the tendons in my left hand.

Hospital, tetnus shots, anti biotics (sp?) and some digging around in the wounds.
They say it's bad luck for a black cat to cross your path on Friday the 13th..
What about geting bit by one? :lol:

my friend who claims to be bad luck and who was born on friday the 13th, once had a black cat cross his path on friday the 13th. Then the cat ran out into the street and got run over and then ran away..he thought it was hilarious that he cursed the black cat haha

I was born on sat the 13 but I have had 1 or 2 of my B-days on Fri the 13th and they werent bad at all.

Today has been a good day for me. I got through installing an aftermarket gauge cluster in my car. :D

To be honest, I rather not blame my misfortunes on a lowsy date. If it happens, it happens... if it doesn't it doesn't! Being extra peranoid is setting yourself up.

That said, "I OWN the 13th.." ;)

its a day... it means nothing... chill

oh and incase the whole thing on how stuff works freaked you out because of the 13 and friday stuff... friday is also the 6th day of the week, and 6 is concidered the worst number because of 666... be afraid!

sure its a somewhat interesting superstition, but I honestly don't believe it has any true meaning...
