roof leak

Hi All
First time post. I just bought a 98 galant ES with sunroof. I have a roof leak which drops it's water from the head liner just above the r/v mirror.
I have removed, cleaned and re installed the sunroof gasket with a small amount of RTV sealant. this did not stop the leak. It seems to leak in heavy downpours only.
Any suggestions?
I haven't removed the head liner so I don't know what sources of water are above it.
