Hello and hopefully can get some help here. I've got a 98 Aurora that has begun to show some interesting electrical problems. While the car is sitting in the driveway, keys removed and all, the headlights along with the interior dash lights will go on and off periodically. The doors are closed, lights off, everything normal and then out of the blue, the lights will come on, then off and do that a number of times. Any ideas? Thanks for your input and also thanks for all the helpful posts.

Just a guess, but I think your going to find a problem with the wiring
harness in the steering column to the headlight stalk switch. Or the switch itself.
You can probably hear the headlight relay assy under the dash clicking as the headlights turn on & off.
This is a similar problem that I had & a new harness & headlight stalk assy resolved the problem.

My 98 Aurora had the same problem a few months ago. It is the relay switch that controls the healights.I wasrtold by the dealer that it is a common problem with that modle, you can take it to a dealer and it is under warranty(if you still have any) if not it is about a $450.00 job.
