This is a car made by the Russian manufacturer Lada, it had a 1500cc engine, built like a tank and based on the Italian Fiat 124 from the 1960`s era. I actually owed one once, embarrased to say.

It's not a Fiat 124, it's based on it. It's Lada 2107, and there's no model of it.

French car?!! Certainly not!!!! :22yikes:
It comes from Russia, based on an italian car... And the model of your pic was still avaible in the eighties... At this time french cars looked "a little more" sophisticated... But nothing was cheaper than these Ladas. (except maybe this::yugosmili )
The only classic Fiat I've seen as a model was the 1/20 Fiat 131 Rally... Not exactly the same car...
The few Datsun 510 (if I remember well) I saw here were closer to that look... And with their rond lights and racing version, maybe a little more attractive... ;) (for example: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=204575&highlight=Datsun+510 & http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=221632&highlight=Datsun+510 )
Sorry. :dunno:

I used to own one of these - excellent cars! Not fast or reliable, but dirt cheap and durable, and easy to fix with the hammer! Rallye Classics actually makes a rally car.
