The problem that the Big 3 are going through in reference to the healthcare is also happening across the country with many other employers. Its a major problem. One that trying to find a solution can end up even causing more problems. Its like the tax code, it is so big and set with so many rules that trying to simplify it is almost to impossible. One solution has been to institute a national healthcare system like Canada and talking with numerous Canadians the majority approve of the system when compared to the rising high cost of healthcare here in the US. I work in a city hospital and I see the cost factor and its getting worse every year. Implementing a system like Canadas here would be great and I would think it would solve alot of problems. But with the drug companies having a big political lobby going against any change its going to be hard. The reason why Managed Care came into play a few years back was to combact this rising cost problem and yet it seems that nothing has been accomplished. Its a shame because as great as this country is we still have too many without insurance. The Big 3 are not the only ones with this healthcost problem, its everyone. Hopefully we fix it before its too late.
