Yeah, i just got a civic dx lol, cant afford a engine swap or anything like that but i added a aem air intake and greddy evo 2 catback exhaust. Having a hard time finding a good header though, anyone know of a good one for this turd lol? I also heard but dont know if its true that i will need a new cat cause i wont be able disconect the stock one since its fused to the stock manifold. Does anyone know if this is true? if so any recomendations on a good one? thanks

on the DX and LX engines, the cat is mated to the stock manifold. So what you have to do is either go to the yard and pick up an EX cat or get an aftermarket one and buy a header for an EX, then it'll all bolt together.

thanks for your reply, only thing im worried about is if i buy an EX cat or get an aftermarket one and buy a header for an EX, will that mess things up for my greddy evo 2 catback?, cause its a evo 2 for a dx. Im not sure what the difference is between a evo 2 for a dx and a evo 2 for the other modles. Or will that evo 2 that i have hook up to the ex cat with no problem? Arg , im so confused :banghead: thanks again

I'll have the same dilema when I get around to getting a header for my '00 DX coupe. What you'll have to do is have some of the piping of your EVO2 exhaust cut off and a flange welded up to the new end of the piping so that you can bolt up the EX cat and bolt that up to the header you decided to get. Should work just fine if done correctly. Your only thing after that is getting your after cat O2 seonsor to fit behind the new EX cat you'll bolt in. Some headers come with a wire extension, otherwise I think you'll have to use an EX Civic after cat O2 sensor to fit, but don't quote me on that.

i have a 97 CX Hatch, and it's similar to the DX, will the EX header bolt onto the CX? are the o2 sensors the same? i know i'd have to get another cat and all....
