I just beat my old time a few days ago last night. I am determined to get 14.9 before I get aftermarket parts. I don't give a shit if it says 14.99 I just wanna be able to tell someone that my car stock, ran a high 14 before I put anything in it. I'm really cautious about my interior, if there's a way of taking my passenger seat and the rear without messing anything up then I am gonna try and do it. What do you guys think? Talk to you guys later.:alien

I used to drive a Civic SI and one day while working on the sterio I stripped the interior completely. Whent for a drive with only the drivers seat(no carpet either!) I did make a differance. your talking a hundred pounds or so (including the carpet and underlay).

Taking the passenger's side eat out is a breeze,,4 bolts......and also you might try taking the spare, the jack and that piece of carpet out that covers the spare.....those are three things that you can take out very easily with harming anything and when track day is done you can throw them back in.....

Just want to know! I going to buy a new Spec V and want to know if it will out do stock Civic Si's and Integra's, etc. I don't want to buy it and have buy aftermarket parts just to keep up with stock rides..

IMO it would really depend on the driver but if neither of you are experts or one or the other doesn't have a huge amout of skill over the other then the Spec-V probably has the edge.
BTW excellent 1320 times there! Good luck on breaking the 14's.

Well I did it again, I just lowered my quartermile time. I just got a 15.02@95mph.. Not bad, I'm gonna get 14's before I start putting shit in the car. Hey OBK 4LIFE, the answer to your question is deffinatlely YES with out a doubt, especially stock. Me and my friend with an SI just ran each other last night. Now he has Tanabe exhaust, DC Sports headers, DAC intake, and an underdraft pulley and I was dead even with him, acutally I was about a bumper in front of him the whole entire race. Top end power isn't that bad either. My roomate who has a WRX was messing with me on the high way one night, after we got on the highway, I downshifted, caught up to him and passed him. Now here are actuall dyno results that I just did today so that people who have one or who want one know where we stand. Max horsepower to the wheels was 144.6, Max torque: 153.1. So there you have it. That's not bad coming out of a four cylinder. The C-VTC sounded so good, almost like listening to a TypeR's V-TEC, same shit, just different car.Speaking of TypeR, the SI I ran can hang with my friends TypeR, it has intake and exhaust, can I hang with him, we'll see tomorrow. Ya'll got my back. I'm out..Late :alien:

Dang, what's your secret?! You are getting better times than those car magazines.

Shit man I honestly don't know. Matter of fact I am going to the track this weekend and I will come back with some accurate times, hopefully 14.9, shit that would be nice. I would love to see that. The only thing I can say is that I am launching my car at around 3 grand, putting my tire pressure to about 20-25psi, taking out the spare and just timing it right for shifting into second. I might even try and take out the passanger seat and the rear seats, octane booster, who know's. Have you been running your car at all. Trust me though, the shit that the magazines are saying like, what is it...15.7, something like that right. Bullshit... the car is faster than that, trust me. I just ran my friend who has a really modified SI tonight like 3 times, he has tanabe exhaust, DC Sport headers, DAC intake, underdraft pulley... I hung with him the whole entire race, I was at his back tire the whole race. He has me from 1st, 2nd, but as I was going into 3rd and fourth I was pulling on him hard. If the quater mile was a little longer I would deffinately get him. But hey this car is stock, so there's no complaints here. Like someone said before I can't wait either until NISMO gets here. Let me know how you do.:alien:

Just a quick question. Are those G-Tech times? Seems so since most Spec V's that have ran at a track are around 89mph(track averages speed over last 300(???) ft or so, where G-Tech has speed at finish)
Also you can't hear the CVTC since it is continuous and is just changing the cam timing, what you hear is the second intake runner opening.

Man I learn something new everyday. The first time I had gotten I think it was a 15.16@90 or so was at the track. But when I had gotten the 15.02@94 it was with the G-Tech because I just wanted to mess around with it. How accurate are those things anyway. I never knew that what I was hearing was the second intake runner opening. See you have to forgive me I had a 97vw turbo jetta and I don't know to much about japanese cars. But I'm learning though. I'm taking my car to the track this weekend and I'll get another accurate time. Thanks for the info.:alien:

Oh man, it did sound too good to be true. I heard those G-Techs aren't precise equipment.

Trust me man your not the only one who is dissappointed. When I saw that I kind of thought is was too good to be true also. But hey 15.1, stock still ain't nothing to complain about. Let's see what I get on Saturday. What have you gotten your car down to in the quarter mile.:alien:

I haven't really redlined it. No times yet. I only got 1400 miles on it. Gonna do an oil change on Monday with Mobil 1 10W-30.

know what peeps? one guy i know just got a new se-r, he claims he hit a 14.8.....i don't think so, he has no g-tech meter or did he run at the tracks. i think 14s for the new se-r is a little bit much? i mean, i was really disappointed when i read about the new se-r and how slow it was(for how much f*#cking horses it has), i mean 15.7? i expected to hit at least 14s, but i'm gonna try out my guy's new se-r and see if it is faster than the classics(i happen to own one) and then i'm gonna run his se-r with mine...later, well we'll just see what happens...:smoker2:

I am not the only one who knows that the SpecV's are faster than that. My car has about 1700 miles on it, I've had it for about a month. When I went to the track I got a 15.13@90mph. I didn't get to go today, I personally don't see why it's impossible for them to reach at least 14.9. I mean if I don't reach it then what is there to complain about? Low low 15's is good for a stock SpecV. One of my friends with another SI, ran me tonight, He has Greddy exhaust, AEM intake, DC Sports headers, civic TypeR cams, etc...I was in front of him into to 3rd but he slowed donw because he thought this truck in front of us was a cop. I love my SpecV, right now with nothing in it, it's doing enough for me to be happy about. It's hanging with pretty every one I know SI's, GSR's, etc...:alien:

you know if they would have kept the spec v's redline up to the 6500 they had it during the car and driver testing. it made a big difference in times. i mean im no engineer. but dont you think they thought about that? look at the dyno that sport compact car posted. does any one see the affects of displacement here? not enough air getting to the engine in Higher Rpms. and even if they did "raise the roof" the engine would suffer from severe breathing issues. dont get me wrong the style of the car is wonderful. but maybe nissan should have invested a six speed into the sr20de. hell may be a factory sr20de-t, instead of trying to winover the populas with big numbers.
