I would say the Mitsubishi 3000GT. If it's the twin turbo you can make it move and if not then it still has the feature I like most. The look. You can make the 3000GT look good and you can do it as money allows. A good paint job then some decals and some neon underglows and who knows. I can't give you much first hand about performance but I can tell you they look great.

For your first car, get a front-wheel-drive beater. Camry, Accord, Civic, Corolla, whatever. And don't waste money making your car into a dumb rice car.

hmmmm, a fwd beater car, hmmmmmm, yeah, a 3000gt would do. jk. i say what kman says. but after you have gotten more experience on driving, instead of a 3000gt i would get a 300zx. same price but rwd, better looks imo, and it is rarer.

did they make turbo legacies(sp?) in those years? i don't think they do. of your choices i'd go with the supra.

Well, if you already have a car, you don't need to buy another one :)
A 10-year old Civic is not total crap. In fact, I can't think of a better car for a new driver. Trust me, you don't need a fast/sporty car yet.

no offense, but how the hell do you guys afford insurance? when I was 16, I couldn't even dream of getting a 300ZX. that $6 bucks an hour back then won't cut it when paying $3500 a year for $7000 sports car. That's half the value of the car right there.

Lucky for me, my parents pay half of my insurance as long as I am getting good grades, so I'm only paying about $150/mo. on the Camry, and I make $500 a month working 20 hrs. a week. So I could probably still afford a 300ZX N/A or Supra N/A.

Yeah lucky you! your parents actually care...Lucky for me my job pays $18 an hour (fixing bank machines, I don't touch the money so don't bother robbing me) so I can manage to afford my car, insurance, and stupid school tuition, but im broke all the time.
As for this lucky 16 year old; I hate you! (just teasing cause im jealous) if I were you I would either buy a beater car until you get good at driving, then take a 3000GT and become the fastest 16 year ever. I feel lucky to have driven a garbage mazda protege to learn, cause I couldn't handle a fast car at that time

a 300zx rarer?? i really dont think so. 3000gts are more rare than 300zxs. the rwd option is cool and everything but youre getting the same performance out of the 3000gt even though its fwd and also looks better imo than the boxy 300zx.

300ZX or Z32 is boxy, are you high? It has lower center of gravity than GT (another words, lower height). And a 300ZX N/A has 220HP at the crank. The two FWD 300GT has 161HP with ohc, and 218-222 with dohc. The Z and GT are both rare in the streets.

i am suprised, when did the z32 become boxy? *runs outside and looks at car*, nope, didn't become boxy on me.

so are n/a 300zx good cars?they look good but i dont know any one who has one

if you take car of it, it will last 200k miles. z32's are sports cars, so whatever comes with a sports car comes with the z32, impractical, not-so-good gas mileage, you HAVE to take care of them, but all that is offset by the sheer enjoyment of the car. z32's are soo much fun, and they get tons of looks. okay, i will stop now.

The Z32 will be just about the best car for the money, NA regardless. But the 240SX would be a better choice for you probably. S13 Fast back is all the car you need starting off. By the time you can afford the Z32, you can get a TT and take some track courses.
How you could call that boxy, I don't know.

If you can get ahold of one, go for the corolla. That's the perfect learning car w/ plenty of potential believe it or not. On top of that, toyota reliability is unbeatable. Also, they're pretty cheap to upkeep and the insurance is lower than all the others. Think about it.

well i didn't think the subaru was that much money and that is the one's that i was looking forward to getting(because of 4wd...maybe turbo not sure what i should get) but the corolla seems the the best for a new drive.

Well, you can get a 1997-2001 Impreza 2.5 RS, they aren't too bad. BTW, Subarus are AWD, not 4WD.

lower height does not equal lower center of gravity but is a factor.. cg is dependant on where the weight is distributed
