Hello everyone. I had my 97 Rodeo for almost 2 years now. It runs just fine. One thing that concerns me are the power windows in the front. It looks like the motor can't handle the weight of th glass anymore. alot of hesitation till the windows are up. Is there anything i can do? Do y ou think is a lubrification problem, or the electrical motors are just dying!

Thanks

Probably not the motor. It's probably the window regulator. There are plastic pieces that wear out and a skinny cable which frays easily. This is an easy DIY, but the part is a little over $100. Take the inner door panel off and have a look...

before replacing window regulator try spraying the window runs with some silicone spray
normally when the regulator starts to go you will hear a grinding type of noise comming from inside of the door

Yes! The grinding noise is there. On both left and right front doors.
Is the isuzu dealer the only place i can get this part (window regulator)? And is the part called simply "window regulator Isuzu 97"?

Thank you so much for the feedback!

You can find the front regulators online for cheaper if you search. For some reason, I couldn't find a rear window regulator with power online and had to pay the list price at the dealer - $114. I'll search for ya since we're in a hurricane warning in Cape Coral...

Look on this site...
$81 or $85 depending on the side. Motor and regulator shoud come as one unit. Good luck. I've done it on my Rodeo and on my VW Jetta, and it's much easier on the Rodeo. No adjusting; just bolt everything back together, plug in the electrical, and you're good to go!

If you need the window regulators without the motors you can get them from ebay for around $50, that's where I got mine from about 3 weeks ago.
