how many days in a week??

ok, i know this seems like a silly question and that you all may think i'm a dumb ass but here is why i ask this..........

i'm having a dissagreement w/ a friend over how many days there are in a week.........lol

i say 7 and he says 5! he doesn't take into account that the weekends are days........lmao to him it's Mon-Fri, that is what makes up a week to him.

now i understand this is his personal belief and he can think what he wants.

so, what do you ppl believe??? what does society in general view as a week??

to me, it's 7 days, Mon-Sun. I'm sure others view it as Sun-Sat.

no, he's not. but my theroy is since he doesn't work on those two days and they don't end in "day" (b/c they end in "end") they don't make up his week. lmao

Well naturally it's 7 days a week, beginning on whichever day you like.

However, you have to consider that some weeks must logically have 8 days. as on a leap year there is an extra day to account for, or maybe each week in a leap year is 7.01923 (rounded up) long?

Then consider that there are 52 weeks in a year. and 365 days. 7 (days in a week) times 52 is 364 so we now have another missing day we have not accounted for so on a leap year, we can only logically say one week is 9 days long.

If your friend thinks there is only 5 days in a week, they are very mistaken and have only completed half a week in a leap year.

I could go on further but I think my brain just turned to swiss cheese.

Ill bet your friend was thinking "business week" in which case there is 5 days (mon-fri). But a calender week has 7, as stated above.
