My door hinges are spot welded on to the door not bolted. The drives side door is sagging with new pins and bushing. The door has some up and down movement between the door frame skin and the top hinge. I think the top spot weld has broken loose. Is their a plate inside the door skin so I can have a weld bead ran a long the top of the hinge? Is there wires or something melt able inside that area? Thanks Dave

I seen what they do in autobody shop they just grab the bottom of the door and lift it.

Thanks for the reply. Maybe that is why the spot weld has broke on the top hinge. Do you know what is behind and under the door skin. Is there a plate like most older GM? I must reweld the top hinge or the othe spotwelds will go. Thanks Dave

there is no plate. i am guessing that the door caught some wind and blew open or slamming the door a lot of pressure goes to the hinges.
