live in redding where summers are well over 104. Lately i have been parking in the shade and not had as many problems. Some days my car will not start right away It turns over but usually takes many tries before I can leave. The other day this happend before work I drove the 6 minutes to work and while breaking in the turn lane my car died it has never died while driving. I had to get pushed into the parking lot. When I turned the key to loosen my wheel the car started this was after the big push.Today I had to leave my car at work because it wont go. It does turn over though. The wiring looks kind of funny by the battery like the previous owner had worked on it. Someone said it might be the control module but before paying the money I thought I would see if there are any other posibilities
please help

There are to many variables and possibilities to make much of a diagnosis from just "a no start."
It could be electrical, computer related, or fuel. I am assuming that it always cranks over but starts hard or not at all. Try this! Before you crank the engine cycle the key to the run position. You should hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds in the tank. A low hum or slight vibration. If fuel is leaking back to the tank while the engine is off or the pump is week you could have air in the system. Another possibility is a stuck EGR valve. This would cause a vacuum leak and lean condition on start up but should also be noticeable after start up so is probably not the problem. But try holding the gas peddle to the floor. This should compensate for a injector leaking fuel into the engine and also a lean condition. There are numerous EEC sensors and component that could be at fault. If it is not distributor less ignition check the coil wire ends. Ford TFI ignition often corrodes at the coil end of the coil wire. This causes high resistance and usually a hard or no start condition. Simply clean up the ends and spray with WD40 or some other kind of silicone lubricant. Getting back to the other response you received make sure the smaller single wire connecter on the ground side battery terminal is seated tight. This is the ground for the computer control system. Hope something here helps. Maybe you could give a little more information to help figure this out.

My control module went out when the car was hot and got stuck in traffic--if you are thinking the module is bad, some auto parts stores will check them for free. Good luck.
