WTF! My Engine IS FU*KED

Ok, I went to go flush my cooling system and guess what happened. Water came spewing out my exhaust! I followed the directions exactly. I dont understand. Ok, i spliced a t-fitting into the heater inlet hose to connect the hose to it, then i drained the radiator and closed the plug. then i turned on the engine and let it idle and turned on the heater and turned on the hose. The car starts sputtering really bad and whaite smoke comes out the exhaust and finally water starts spewing out the exhaust. It happened for about 20-30 sec before i shut the car off. Yep, thats right. Wow, my car is fu*ked huh? PLease, if any of you could give me any info on how bad this was and how much its gonna cost to get it fixed. Did it totally screw up my engine? Cause Im guessing every part of my engine is full of water, right?

well basically it seems as if you cracked your head or bent some valves and blew the head gasket...

cracked head would cause this to happen and depending on where you cracked it the water would go thru the crack and run out the exhaust ports

bent vavles and a blown head gasket would also make this happen seeing the valves are bent so when the piston comes up it pushes the water out into the exhaust!

is your car a turbo? if so your turbo could be fucked causing water to be released into the exhaust, but i would think it would also be release into the intercooler pipes too! check them ;) that is if your car is a turbo!

No, this is with my Pontiac Grand Prix. I know its not DSM specific. Im sorry! If you want to stop this thread, i completely understand. I really just needed help because im having AAA tow it to a shop tommorrrow morning and im scared shitless about what they're gonna say. Wow, im gonna be embarassed. I've been wanting to flush it for a while and i finally just said f it and did it tonight. I just talked about it with my bro and showed him the engine where i spliced the hose and he said that was probobly the intake vaccum hose NOT the heater inlet hose. FUK! Straight into the f-ing intake. He was talking about hydrolocking it, but that i might not be too screwed cause i shut it off instead of it just dying. But do you think its that bad? I mean, is this gonna be a giant deal where they have to take my whole engine apart and im out $1000?

One more thing man, your not really quiting are you?

go disconnect that splice and patch the hoses and start it right now... make sure it runs, and let it run until there is no more water comin out the exhaust, watch your temp gauge tho! if it starts and seems to run fine let it go... just go start it right now so you dont hydro lock it!!!

Start it right now??? I was planning on backingf ar away from it at this point and letting someone else other than me touch it.

Just out of couriosity, how would you destroy your engine like that just from flushing the cooling system?

Water came spewing out my exhaust!

Right....but unless he decided to dump the coolant in the oil fill, I don't understand how it got into the motor. Unless the HG went at the exact time he was filling the system.

"I just talked about it with my bro and showed him the engine where i spliced the hose and he said that was probobly the intake vaccum hose NOT the heater inlet hose. "
i think this is the problem.

Yeah, i think what my brother said was true. I installed the t-hose fitting into the hose a couple days ago and drove it a couple times after. I really should have noticed when i took the cap off the fitting that it was COMPLETELY clean, no coolant, no water, nothing. Wow, im stupid. But i still flushed it after that anyway. I was just in such a rush to get it done finally. The hose that i installed it into is Right above the hose that i actually needed to install it in. These pontiac engines are so hard to find stuff in though.

So i did a bit of reasearch and i think i might not be totally screwed. Aparetly water doesnt compress, so if you get water in you engine and step on the gas the best that can happen is some rods are bent, the worst is your engine blows up. Since i never reved the engineand it only went on for about 20 sec, i probobly didnt bend anything, but im still woried about my piston rings since it seems like the water would be forced through them having nowhere else to go. Some people have said to take the plugs out, turn the engine over and "squirt " out the water, then change the oil like 3 times. We'll see in a couple hours what the shop says.

Hmmm. This all sounds like an expensive mistake, whatever the case. But hey, lesson learned, right?

Well, if you guys want to know what happened, here goes. The shop said i need to replace my brake booster bla bla. I have no idea what that is but aparently it had water in it. $350. Spark plugs needed to be replaced, $150. Yeah, i know 10 bucks to do it myself, but after what happened... Oil needed to be changed. They said they took the plugs out and cranked it over and got it running for about 1/2 hour and it ran fine and had no knocking or anything. They said my piston rings would be fine too. In all they said it would be $1,200! WOW, that sucks. But i guess its better than a new motor. The guy said my motor was a $4000 engine. LOL, my car is worth less than that.
