I have a 2001 Silverado 2WD extended cab pickup. I want some lift and I wanted to know if I could get larger all terrains for my stock 16 inch rims if so how large can I go without rubbing the wheel wells?

i don't know about your truck but i have a 2000 chevy Z71 with about 1 inch raised torsion bars. i can fit 285 75 16 with no problem but i tried 305 75 16 and i rubbed a little and minor minor fender trimming need at front valance

I've got 285's on my '90 4x4 with no lift or torsion changes. Will rub the fender on the top a little if I'm beatin' and bangin' hard off road...

If its a 2wd, I would look at some 265's... 285's would definately look better and probably give you the clearance your looking for, but the front end on a 2ws sits considerably lower than a 4x4, so scrubbing is a big issue with a tire over 265... meausre the tires that are on it now (height/width) and then think about a 285 being 33" tall and about 11" wide. Its kind of a guessing game until you really get them mounted, but with a keen eyeball, you can make a good choice.

my 04 5.3 has 305/45/vr22's at stock height and the left front fender rubs only a little in reverse on a full turn!
