Can anyone tell me what the chassis code is for a 2000 jdm 4dr civic and if the front bumper is the exact same as a 2000 usdm 4dr civic.

thanks
Darren

no clue about the chassis code, but i believe most jdm civics come with front lips, while some usdm civics dont

If this is what you are talking about...

http://www.honda.co.jp/HOT/ModelData/civic/96cv4-ka-509/image/cvc_img2.jpg

Then Honda lists it as the E-EK4.

My guess is that the noses are interchangable, but I'm only guessing.

Setanta thats a 1996-1998 civic, the 1999-2000 is facelifted

EK4 is a civic hatchback with a b16a (SiR i think) i could be wrong??

so in another world i don't know???

Ummm... I took it off Honda's site, along with the chassis designation. Somehow I don't think that Honda got the chassis code wrong :flipa:

Different models for the 4 door actually - Si and Si II are listed as EK4s.

Vi, Mi, ML = E-EK3
EL = E-EK2
Si II and Si = E-EK4
RTi = E-EK5

All are listed as 1995 onwards. Facelifts don't usually change the chassis codes as I recollect :)

the strange thing is that the B16a hatchback has the same code Ek4??? so i don't know whats going on, the EG model is different when a B16a hatchback is a EG6 and a B16a Sedan is a EG9

The only thing I can think is that the Si and Si II both carry a B16 (too lazy to check :) ). Maybe they have a similar front end to the coupe as in mounting points compared to the other motors? Not that I really care - EF9 rules :smoker2:

I think he got all the answer he was ever going to get :)

EG6 rocks... from the displacement of air around an EF9 as the EF9 blows past it :silly2:

I thought the 1999 - 2000 model, had a different rear, but the front was the same?

The rear having the flat back end, similar to the accord, with similar tail lights.

Thanks everyone ;) I had completely forgotten about this thread (well it was 14 days before I got a reply :D)

Too tell you the truth I'm kinda confused about chassis codes. My car is a 2000 4dr Civic manufactured in Japan. It's chassis code is EJ9. A hatchback from '98 has the same code.

I got the information I needed anyway.

thanks again

We didn't get SiRs here - I think it's a VTiR w B16A. Q?

evil_elmo
02-22-2002, 02:12 AM
did you know that VTi-R has less HP than SiR ................. have a SiR :D :D

Setanta
02-22-2002, 02:16 AM
Our VTiRs had 160bhp, same as the USDM Si Coupe (also called a VTiR here).

That's the same as the original EF9 SiR... they had to bump the bhp up to 170 in the EG SiR for all the lardarses that bought them :finger:

So's mine (as you know :) ). I'd be interested to see what sort of difference there is... other than mine being more of a fuel guzzler :)

Yours is probably a bit lighter, so I'd say they'd be evenly matched.

i want another LSD, need one for my EK, they are so expenise, i got price for just the LSD unit $2000

Setanta

Yeah, the Quaife was going for Au$1000... I just couldn't justify it. I really want to find a SiR box with one in it though. Not so easy unfortunately - I've only seen a EF8 front cut with the LSD box.

Here's a pic. The car goes into the shop on March 25th for some work. I'll post updated pics after it's finished.

Normally I don't like 4 door cars, but damn that looks nice :)

evil_elmo: only time I've seen a LSD box, they wouldn't split it from the EF8 front-cut :(

Getting the tsunami T2000 bodykit put on and the rear door handles are being shaved. Still thinking about getting the rear boot shaved as well. Have to think about it a bit more.

Thanks for the compliment :)
