vacuum system messed up...

ok, here what the problem is. after i bought the car i realised that the niple conector coming out of the check valve(under the battery) for the small vacuum hose, was broken, so it was inposible to hook the line back in. i took it out and glued a new nipel, worked out perfectly, put the hose back on and now i got this: no mather if the car is cold or hot, now everywhere in between 1100-1400 RPM's that same check valve starts sounding like a "sick duck" ..... maaaak.....maaaak.....maaaak. kind of like it sucks or relieses air. also in that same range my control solenoids are starting clicking as crazy(the 2 above the intake). u can barely hear the check valve and the solenoids when you are with the hood open, but man is it noisy inside the car. very agrovating.
to get a better idea what i'm talking about, here's the diagram:
http://www.ecanfix.com/users/manualcd/gift/dsm/2g_turbo_vacuum_line_info.pdf
u got to go to page 2 (2.0 Engine turbo). the check valve is in the left top corner of the diagram. i've reroute the hoses numerous times, tried everything, even realised that the "purge control valve" appears upside down on the diagram(and on the one underneeth your hood) and nothing. still clicking solenoids and now that check valve...
if someone has any idea what could be wrong. bad solenoids maybe?any help is greatly appresiated...

p.s. i still can not get how does this vacuum system works, how it helps the engine to work better. maybe thats why i can't fix it...
