replacement stereo for 93 suburban

Has anyone run across a good replacement for the half-a$$'d factory setup. I've got the control head, which is no where near a normal radio size, and the tape/EQ combo, that's waaaaayy too wide for a normal radio. I'm just wondering how others have put in newer stereos, and what kinds work well.

Thanks! :)

Any DIN sized aftermarket radio will work, you just need the mounting kit that takes the place of the tape player in the middle of the dash. You can pick up the mounting kit at walmart, or any major electronics store.

GadgetPros.com sells a replacement bit for the dash mounted tape/eq panel that has a DIN sized cutout for aftermarket radios. I have also seen a "Gadget Box" that replaces the radio head unit and gives you somewhere to store junk.

I have a custom sound system in my 93 Suburban it isn't as hard as you may think. I bought my head unit and took out the tape player. I got a simple plastic adapter to fit it into the tape player slot. Isn't that hard.
