installed my fipk, injen pipe, 1g bov, dejon uicp yesterday. Wow, i didnt know what the fuck i was doing!! took me forever! i had to go back to Schuck twice. once becasuse i forgot a t-fitting for the MBC wich i never got around to installing. and agian for a larger size vacume hose, wich i ended up getting fuel hose, they didnt have the diamiter i needed. anyway, i started out jacking up my car, and taking off my front passenger tire. i have never in my life seen a more stuiped idea than the ideah mitsubishi had when they decided they were going to use plastic screws on the plastic under fender. What the fuck are up with those. after 10 minuets fiddling around with them, every time they would slip back in, not to mention stipping the fuck out of them. i decited just to clip them out with my wire sippers. Why coulding they use somthing normal. once i got to my intercooler (full of rocks, and dust) i had to figure out how to get that last bolt off right below the head light. it would have been easy if i could have figured how to take the head light out. intresting enough, Chiltons dosent give you much advice on how it comes off, so i had to wing it. and if i ever do take that off agian, its staying off!! i straiten out the Intercoolers flow halls, it looked like somone had hit it with a hammer over and over. but i got them all strait. i cleaned ount the bugs, and used carb cleaner inside the intercooler, and let it dry for about 3 hours. i put that back on, using zipties to connect the plastic air funnel that dirrects air into the intercooler. i really hated those plastic screw clips and i wasnt about to waist more time trying to put them back on, wich actually when i got done, figured out that its actually really easy to put back in.
Put the uicp, bov, fipk, and ijen intake on with no problem at all!! it was defently an intresting install. i wanted to install my Boost Gauge, and MBC, paint my Valve cover, and put on the Hose Kit i bought online. but i didnt have time. Anyway. The car is 100% diffrent. the sound the Fipk makes along with the sound of the Turbo Spooling is down right awsome! the 1g bov is alot louder then i thougt! i thought it might wistle a little bit, but when it dumps in 2nd to 3rd. its really loud. There is alot of diffrence in the top end power. i didnt really notice the lower end power as much, though it is there. i have to say it was time and $ well spent
i think this sunday or monday i'll figure out how that boost gauge connects to the FCS using the adapters from the autometer gauge i got. untell then.

On the installs, I didn't do my headlight so getting the top bolt off the SMIC was a bitch, but I did it. I agree 100% on the plastic screws, which TO THIS DAY I can't figure out how to get out properly, but if I can get ahold of some more, they go in really easy. I didn't take my wheel off, either... so I spent the time that would take working around it.
After all the hassle you figure out that it's worth it, like you said.

installed my dual autometer gauge pod & CF autometer Vac&boost gauge today before work.. took me about a half hour. took it for a spin and everthings perfect! vac's at 15 at idle, boost's 15psi. it peaks around 18-19 psi when i go WOT getting on the freeway on-ramp with no fuel cut. i was going to install my manual boost controler but becasue of how its running im not sure if i need to yet untell i intall a larger turbo. what do you think?

well, if your car is already boosting around 15lbs then it probably isnt too necessary to put the boost controller on, but you said what sounds to be boost creep so if you wanted to install the MBC to try to controll your turbo from creeping to 19lbs then the install would be worth it.

no it sounds like he is spiking, so if you want to keep that under wraps put the MBC on. happy to see you finaly getting some fun mods on. once you get dirty with a DSM you can never seem to keep away from popping the hood ;)
