timing belt change

HELP ME PLEASE. I can't afford to take my 94 ford ranger 4 cyl to the shop to have the timing belt changed, so I am attempting to do it my self. I need to know what all I am going to have to do. It is a manual trans. and the timing belt did not break but it is the original and it has over 100,000 miles on it, so I know it is time to change the belt. It started out as changing the water pump which I have already done, then took a glance at the timing belt when we pulled the cover back and it needs to be changed. Can I change it without having to reset the timing on it since it didn't break. I know the harmonic balancer pully needs to come off, can I use a pulley puller on that or do I need something else to pull it with.

I hope there is a way that I can change it without having to take the whole engine apart.

You need to get the PS pump bracket and A/C pump out of your way (if you have them). Then use a puller for the crank pulley. The cam, crank and oil pump pulleys have timing marks, so line them up before you pull the belt. I use channel lock pliers to compress the tensioner assy.
