Sooo many problems

Ok, I bought this car a few months ago for only a 1000 dollars, it seemed like a good deal. One owner, proven maintnence schedule, 140k on it, beautiful in and out, no rust or abuse. Now for the questions...

The cooling fans dont work (not the problem...read on) I have replaced both of the fans becuase they kept breaking the 40amp fuse that is in that little cabinet in the engine compartment. It still keeps burning out, and im not sure why.

My oil preasure meter in the inside of the car reads that im at 120, yet when I hook a guage to it directly, it states that im only at 47. When I turn the key to the "on" position, the needle jumps to the other side (which to me sounds like a ground wire...but i have gone over every inch of the damn car, and replaced all wiring that looked shiesty)

There is also signifigant drain on the battery even when the car is off...i havent been able to figure out what is pulling the battery down either.

Also, if it helps, the lamp monitor is always needing to be reset...every time you start the car...and the "parking lamp" indicator comes on, even though all my parking lights work. I dont know if that helped any, but maybe it is all some how linked?

When the driver side door is open, the lights do not come on, and the door ajar light does not come on either (from a previous thread, I am to believe that the switch in the lock mechanism took a dive, and some one barn jobbed my car enough to sell)

I would be really super appreciative if any one could help me out. I work two jobs, and am a college student who is trying to make it. I think I got ripped off by this car becuase I was given the impression that there was nothing wrong with it, I bought it from a friend (who now lives in arizona) and I couldnt see any of the initial problems (except for the oil pressure guage) before determining to buy this vehicle.

But hey, it runs and moves...most of the time...and when it does run, it purs like eartha kit (before she got old and flemmy)

Well, if any of you can help, it would be most appreciated

Get a Digital Voltmeter, go to radio shack, not too expensive. This will help you immensely. And get a test light, with aligator clips.
I don't see what year it is, but the trouble shooting will
be generic. Try to find some type of manual on the car.
Go to a library and look for one. Or use the library to access All Data for information.
Once you have some wiring diagrams, you can start looking for the problems. Start with the current drain on the battery. Disconnect the negative side of the battery and then connect the test light between the cable and the battery. The light will probably glow brightly, because of the short. Then start pulling fuses, and check the light after each fuse is pulled. When the light gets very dim, you have found the circuit with the problem. From there it is a simple matter of just tracing wires and finding bad spots or components.
If the problem doesnt' go away by pulling the fuses, then you need to look at the wiring between the battery and the fuse box. Also there will be wires and components that do not go to the fuse box. This is one reason why you need the wiring diagram.
As far as the fans go, one comes on when the engine warms up, the other when the AC comes on. I would guess that the main fan is the one blowing the fuse. It is controlled through a temperature sensor, check the sensor, it may be bad. And follow the wiring from the fuse, there is probably something shorted there.
And do not assume that the car is wired properly, without a diagram. Since there are so many seemingly unrelated problems, I bet the owner screwed things up himself.
But, once you get the car straightened out, you will realize that you did not get ripped off. A grand for a park avenue with 140K is not very much.
And now you know, never buy a car with any problems that you do not know how to fix. No matter what the owner tells you about the problem, you need to find out on your own. So take it to a mechanic before buying.
