my stock seatbelt doesnt completly retrack and it bugs me so i was just thinking about geting a 3 or 4 point harness... but i had one question. can you put a harness on a stock seat and how do you do it.. is there any drilling needed?

Wow mine works fine, didn't knwo that was a problem. Sounds like an easy fix though, just some mechanical tweaking.

when you say it doesn't retract i take you mean it is slow going back into itself? if it is you should try spraying a good quality silicone spray on the back and front of the seatbelt material i.e the strap as they get dirty and stick on themselves hence it not going back properly.
i had the same trouble but mine work perfectly now.
best thing to use is a dashboard interior cleaner which has high silicone properties NOT a foam acting cleaner. i think you guys have Armorall in the U.S. dont you? thats a good one to try. spray it on and pull the belt in and out of itself until it becomes smooth and free of sticking.
give it a go you will be suprised how much of a difference it makes.

I jsut hate how far back the seatbelt is, and i'm not terribly short or anything (5'11").

I think it has to do with the angle of the way it goes in too.. cuz when mine doesnt go in.. ill undo it from my seat and let it pull in straght.. it goes in a little better but i have to pull it in back and forth

mine does that to sometimes and i hate it. but the harrness should go in easy and as long as you could find a good bolt to hook them to then you do not have to drill anything

what would u have to drill?
3000gtkid

you would just have to drill a hole to hold the end of the belts down
but you have to put those kind of belts at a right angle or they could break your back in a wreck

That sounds like a pretty common problem. Luckily, mine doesn't have that problem. Unluckily, my car doesn't run right now. *Stupid timing belt/bent valves...

Its got to be a spray so it impregnates the belt wipes wont put enough silicone on the belt im afraid.

I'll have to try that at work today, as my belt does the same thing.
In response to the original question, if I remember correctly, www.3sxperformance.com has harnesses 3, 4 or 5 point that work with the stock seats and locations, so try checking them out if that is the route you wanna go.
