If i take the car its a standard ok i take it to the track would it be smart to keep it floored all the way down the track? Even when switchin gear's juss shift fast. I wanna know because I have a big race next week.

Thanks for your time.

you can do it but say bye bye to your clutch

its all about practice, you can soon learn that while not holding down full throttle on the gas, you have to let up around half way depending on the car and shift, it sorta holds the rpm in a nice place for you to keep your momentum.

I'd recommend against it, unless you REALLY know what you're doing.

OK the first thing you need to do is practice driving your car. Drive it and see what works for you. guys on this forum such as youngvr4 and Orangez not only know alot about cars, but they also know about about their cars. you need learn as much as you can about your car. I say try it (not on the race track) and if you smell something funny or hear any weird noises while doing it, well that's your clutch and you probably shouldn't do it.

I really doubt that a beginner is going to notice a difference by doing this. if you have alot of runs under your belt, try it and see if your et drops

depending on what you have setup, you would prolly be more likely to spin the tires through the gears...

not smart, dont do it. learn how to shift properly. the end

Shifting while staying at full throttle will depend on the CAR, the GEAR and the DRIVER.
It will result in faster ETs unless you do not have the traction for that much power going into the next gear.

I always stay at least partial throttle while shifting (helps keep boost up).
I stay 100% throttle while shifting from 3rd --> 4th.
I do not trust my syncros for 1st --> 2nd.
I have successfully stayed WOT shifting from 2nd --> 3rd once.
The second attempt I missed it it terribly and has kept me from trying again.

There is a lot of risk in doing this. One missed shift could redline your engine or destroy your tranny.
I would only recommend it if you are okay with either of those out comes.

Here is an in car video me doing a 12.05 1/4 mile run.
I stay 100% throttle on the 3rd --> 4th shift.
If you listen carefully, you will hear a huge difference in the sound of the shift compared to the first two. Notice the blow-off valve makes almost no noise on the 3rd --> 4th shift:

If I may quote myself:
"If you heard your BOV, you did not shift as fast as you could have."

Like Hyde said if your not willing to pay the price if you mess up. Don't do it!

First of all, I just wann get to know the cars.
1. What are you driving & are there any mods. If so, what has been done to it
2. What is he/she driving & are there any mods. If so, again a list of these is needed
3. How long have you been driving manual
4. How long has he been driving manual

All 1987 Isuzu Impluses were RWD with a 140 hp turbocharged 2.0L inline-four. Nifty little car :P

i'm gunna say that if it was maintained well, you'll OWN the accord, it prolly came w/ something near 110hp or less depending on the year, my neighbors had 137 stock and its a 94 ...but he runs 16flat (CAI, Exhaust, no cat, shortshift) when his gears work

Ok another guy im gonna race is driving a chevy s10 automatic v6 and another guy is driving a isuzu truck he put airbags on back and put a c notch in it
i told you that because i thought that it would slow it down because of weight.

the s10 is debatable, trucks aren't normally too fastand its an automatic, but it is a light truck w/ prolly...180hp it'll be close
i kno nothing about isuzu trucks...i didn't kno isuzu made trucks to be honest
